Punk had a unique and complex aesthetic steeped in shock value and celebrating the ugly. The look of punk was designed to disturb and disrupt, a technique that our many modern ad campaigns use but we found that the agencies creating these campaigns have often forgotten it’s roots. It felt like so many of the artists we looked to in our adolescence were becoming less known. So we set out to create a visual tribute to the historical figures, icons, and history of this great movement by creating over a dozen portraits for some of our favourite figures of the Punk movement.
With 16 images selected for the final printed tabloid sized promo we’re hoping to make some of the printed pieces available for purchase in the future.
